Teamplay enables Rippletide to remain flexible and responsive. Teams regularly hold quick syncs to adjust to market changes rapidly. As a sports team, overcoming specific positions as a team improves velocity.

When teams work closely, they share successes and challenges, cultivating a deep sense of ownership and commitment to their projects. This is evident in how our teams stay motivated, even when facing challenges.

Rippletide promotes an environment where open communication is the norm, and trust is the cornerstone. Regular team retreats and open feedback sessions help in building this trust, just as in a sports team the attackers must be able to rely on the defenders to secure the play. This trust is key to building a team spirit.

Continuous learning is an inherent part of Rippletide, and it's mostly done in teams. Through joint workshops and shared learning sessions, team members grow together, not only improving their skills but also ensuring that the company evolves as a unit, enhancing the overall dynamic.

Implementing teamplay at Rippletide

At Rippletide, we understand that strong teams are built on more than just work-related interactions. We actively organise activities that are unrelated to our daily tasks to foster personal connections among team members. This means anyone that leads a project can recruit others in the organisation to collaborate with them, regardless of department or seniority. This open approach ensures that everyone feels valued and that their ideas can make a difference.

Transparency about performance — both good and bad — is crucial in our team dynamics. When a football team concedes three goals, it's important to collectively understand why. On the other hand, when important games are won, the celebrations are also collective.

Leaders at Rippletide play the team as a collective in every aspect of their work. It’s instrumental to anchor these practices into Rippletide’s culture, especially for newcomers.

At Rippletide, we are committed to ensuring that the focus always remains on the project first. We achieve this by setting clear project objectives and roles right from the start. Regular review meetings help keep everyone aligned and committed to the collective goals, fostering a culture where the success of the project is paramount for every team member.

Maintaining a consistent level of delivery and mindset between teams poses its own set of challenges for startups. To manage this, we've embedded core teamplay principles into all aspects of our operations. But I can't disclose everything!

Recognising and valuing key individual contributions toward the project is also crucial. At Rippletide, we make a point of celebrating these contributions that drive the company forward in a meaningful way. We collectively know that some contributions are pivotal to help the team. If everyone exceeds their own expectations, the project will benefit. So while we thrive on teamwork, we also celebrate the individual efforts that contribute to our collective achievements. Sometimes scorers help the defence, and other times the whole team needs to go forward as a whole to score in additional time. So, by exceeding expectations in our own roles, we all support the collective to drive the project to its success.
