Role

As DevOps / Backend Engineer at Rippletide, you will play a pivotal role ensuring the robust and scalable delivery infrastructure operations for autonomous systems. You will architect, build, and optimize the infrastructure and pipelines that support both our internal teams and our customer-facing AI services.

About You

The ideal candidate has strong infrastructure engineering and automation experience. You're proactive, organized, able to handle multiple projects, and thrive in dynamic environments. Growth-oriented and data-driven, you use metrics, logs and traces to continuously improve reliability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture:

• Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure optimized for ML and AI workloads to support autonomous systems.
• Lead deployment pipelines for machine learning models, ensuring robust and efficient delivery.
• Identify and proactively mitigate technical risks of the whole architecture.

Data-Driven Optimization:

• Monitor system metrics (performance, latency, model drift), logs and traces to identify improvement areas.
• Utilize data-driven insights to optimize ML infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

Collaboration & Operational Excellence:

• Serve as a key technical expert, building strong cross-functional systems between developers and data scientists
• Regularly collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams to support evolving ML/AI operational requirements.
• Drive initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of operational efficiency, scalability, and system robustness.

The ideal DevOps / Backend candidate will have:

• Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong experience in managing reliable infrastructures with AI workloads
• Experience in implementing and supporting ML/AI systems, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, SaaS metrics, monitoring tools, and performance analytics specific to ML environments.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail for data-driven decision-making.
• Problem-solving capabilities and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
• Proven adaptability and comfort working in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with agility, ownership, and motivation to build impactful solutions from the ground up.
